The 6Foot6 Productions podcast And Then Came Breast Cancer won Gold at the British Podcast Awards in the Wellbeing category.
The British Podcast Awards were this year judged by Leanne Alie - head of podcasts at The Partnership Group - and Surithi Bala and Hannah Maguire of the Redhanded podcast.
And Then Came Breast Cancer is a podcast for anyone who has come into contact with the disease. Deservedly proud, Victoria took to her social media accounts to join Future Dreams in thanking everyone involved in the podcast; from the production team to the listeners at home, to Genesis Care who sponsored our most recent series, we’re so glad to have you.
“Thank you SO much for listening and to all of you incredible women and men who have taken part.” said Victoria. “You are frank, you are open, and you are helping thousands of others.”

& Then Came Breast Cancer hits Bullseye
The Bullseye Award at the 2022 British Podcast Awards was won by The 6Foot6 Production & Then Came Breast Cancer. The podcast, which is presented by breast cancer survivor Victoria Derbyshire, was praised for giving “comfort to those listening” who had been diagnosed with the illness.
Episodes included discussions on the difficulties of telling family members of the news and how to break it to children, the fear of dying, but also went into the practicalities of coping with hair loss and carrying on working.
“The podcast that no doubt brought comfort to those listening who had shared experience. The lightness from some guests gave a fuller account when combined with the grittier elements, and the treatment that focused around moments and experiences made it stand out from the crowd.” - British Podcast Award judges
& Then Came Breast Cancer (the third series of which is currently in production) is made for Future Dreams - a charity that provides practical and emotional support for those diagnosed with breast cancer.
